SITKA — Representatives from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will be in Sitka Wednesday, April 5 through Friday, April 7, 2017, to meet individually with Veterans interested in learning what benefits they may be eligible to receive.

The VA offers many benefits including health coverage, disability compensation, burial benefits, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) counseling and other services.

Alaska Legal Services Corporation has a NEW Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) with SEARHC. The MLP can help SEARHC patients and beneficiaries with civil legal matters such as wills, deeds, powers of attorney, child custody, domestic violence protective orders, and housing disputes.

Staff from the VA will be in Sitka April 5-7th to meet with any Veterans. 

Appointments will be held at the CHS building in room 104.

The visiting staff include the new VA Psychologist, Dr. McQueen who assists with the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) program and Ric Epperson, Rural Health Program Manager.
